This year the weather jink was put to rest. We had the most beautiful day of the year for our event. Even in this economy we had 32 players and raised enough to provide 148 gift bags. A great time was had by all. Please come next year and join the fun while helping put smiles on the faces of children in need.

Birthday Buddies MN Garage Sale

The Birthday Buddies MN Garage Sale was held Thursday, July 16th through Saturday, July 18th, 2009.

We would like to thank the wonderful congregation at Our Savior’s Church in Brooklyn Park MN for donating the use of their Friendship Hall for this year’s garage sale!

We raised enough money to create 50 bags!

For all of you that couldn't make it to the Beer Bust you missed a fun time. We raised enough money to create over 25 birthday party bags for families in need.

Love From Minnesota prides themselves in finding ways to "Make A Difference". The organization partners with local artists, local environmentalists and both local and national charitable organizations to bring their causes and work to everyone in their trading areas.

Carondelet Catholic School 5th Graders Hold a Fundraiser AND a Toy Drive

The 5th grade classes at Carondelet Catholic School in Minneapolis, MN spent the Fall Season helping Birthday Buddies. On September 13th they sold carmel apples at the Fall Festival and donated the proceeds to Birthday Buddies. But they didn't stop there! On November 6th they created 23 Birthday Buddy bags to donate to children in need.

We can not say thank you enough to the children, teachers, parents and community; your caring has helped us provide almost 50 birthday parties for families in need.

As part of the Trane Companies United Way Drive, they held a toy drive for Birthday Buddies.

This years "Boo Bash" was a total success. It was held at CR Billiard's in Coon Rapids on October 25, 2008. Jerry and the gang at CR's were the perfect hosts and they are already planning on how to make the event even larger next year.

We raised enough funding (revenue from the Silent Auction & Raffles) and toy donations to build approx. 70 birthday bags for children of families in need. Thank you to everyone that attended and mark your calendars, next year will be even bigger.

The Donahue Sisters will do just about anything to raise money for Birthday Buddies.

Rice Lake Elementary School in Maple Grove adopted Birthday Buddies and the entire school donated toys, cakes, frosting, candles, plates & napkins. We can not thank them enough.

Kare 11 visited the school and filmed a spot highlighting what ths school did for families in need. This aired on Kare 11 News @ 4:00, October 13, 2008.

For our 1st Golf Event we had a wonderful showing, 34 golfers participated in the event. The weather could have been better but everyone seemed to have a good time.

We had hoped to raise enough at the garage sale for 300 birthday bags; however, we raised only enough to build 135. Keep in mind, every $30.00 we raise provides a gift for a family in need.

The items that seemed the most in demand were books, CD's and videos, next year we will focus on these 3 items. Please contact us if you have donations for this event.

UPDATE: This event not only raised enough to assemble approximately 135 bags but the press coverage was wonderful. We were written up in the Brooklyn Park Paper, we had articles in the Wed. Oct 12th Star Tribune and again in the Sunday paper. And on Friday, Cable Channel 12 ran a spot every hour promoting the event. With all this coverage we were on WCCO Jones & Mondale Midday show and became their link of the day.

A special thanks to the departments at Carlson Companies that held a toy drive the 2 weeks prior to Christmas. We received enough toys and donations for 18 complete bags.
