Sample Birthday Buddies Bag
"What toys do you need?" That is the question we get all the time. We provide bags for children ages 1-12 so our needs are huge. We only have a few guidelines.

Nothing that is violent or looks in any way like a knife or gun. Some of the children live in areas where these toys could put them in danger.

Try and stay away from anything that needs batteries or uses DVD, CD or a television. We are not always aware if they have access to these items. Also, the parents can't always afford to replace the batteries.
Toy Suggestions
Board Games: Clue, Scrabble, Yahtzee, Sorry, Checkers, Chess, Battleship, Candyland, Monopoly, Memory, etc.
Dolls: Bratz, Barbie, Cabbage Patch, Dora and Diego, Blue's Clues, Winnie-the-Pooh, Hannah Montana, etc. Kids even love stuffed animals!
Sports Equipment:
- Baseballs, bats and gloves
- Basketballs
- Footballs
- Soccer balls
- Etc.
Theme Items: Batman, Spiderman, Star Wars, Thomas the Train Engine, Pro-Wrestling figures, etc.
Miscellaneous items such as:
- Play-Doh
- Card games like Uno, Old Maid, etc.
- Jump Ropes
- Puzzles (jigsaw, seek-a-word books, etc.)
- Combs, Brushes and Hair Accessories (barrettes, Scrunchies, headbands, etc.)
- "Beauty" Items: Body lotions, lip gloss, press-on nails, etc.
- Matchbox cars and trucks
- "Toddler Friendly" toys such as balls, preschool toys, etc.
And don't forget:
- Cake mixes and frosting -- and don't forget the candles
- Plates and Napkins -- "birthday" themed are great!
- Large gift bags and tissue paper
These are a very important part of the celebration and are always in short supply.
