Birthday Buddies was started during the holiday season of 2006.  As we heard announcements of toy drives on the television and radio, we asked ourselves, "Who remembers these children on their birthdays?"  We believe that the celebration of a child's life and family is important in the development of self-esteem.

"Why isn't MY birthday celebrated?"

When children are invited to another child's birthday party but do not have a celebration for their own birthday, it brings feelings of inadequacy...

Our goal is for that question to never be asked by another child!

We connected with state and county agencies to see how we could assist them in making sure all children have the opporunity to celebrate their birthdays.  The response was overwhelming.

The first year we supplied birthday party bags for 402 families.  In 2008, we supplied 904 bags, in 2009 the goal was 1,500 bags we supplied 1,009  Why have we missed these goals?  It was due to a lack of funding -- not lack of demand.

Our goal for 2010 is once again to help 1,500 children celebrate their birthdays.  Please donate today to help us make this goal.
